Cottage. C17 with possible medieval origins. Coursed squared ironstone, C20
plain tile roof, white brick end stack to left. One-unit plan. 2-storey,
1-window range. Main front to south has C19 plank door to right of centre with
ornamental hinges and chamfered stone doorway with 4-centred head. Stone above
door with cross and small circular glazed lights at each end of cross arms
except for blank circle to base. 2-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullion window to
ground floor left with hood mould. 2-light half-dormer window above with
ovolo-moulded stone mullion. Interior noted as having open fireplace with
cambered bressumer and chamfered spine beams. Formerly known as Monk's Cottage
and said to have been where monks from Canons Ashby Priory stayed when serving
Chapelry of Adstone, now church (q.v.).
