Built circa 1625 by Sir Eubule Thelwall. Gables replaced by embattled parapet
1733-41; additions made in 1886 in Milton stone. The South front refaced
in Clipsham stone in 1920, leaving untouched an early C18 shell hood to
doorway. Contains early C17 panelling and fireplace.
