Melton Constable Hall Terraces

G.V. II

Terracing, retaining walls, balustrades and urns attached at north-east corner
to Melton Constable Hall, running west and south. c.1850. Red brick with
stone dressings. Italianate. To park brick retaining walls with stone quoins,
to garden brick plinth, stone balustrading with urns of three different sizes.
Overlooking park landscaped by "Capability" Brown 1764-1769 : see D. Stroud,
Capability Brown (1950, 1975), 1975 edition, pp112,233.
