ST7219 HENSTRIDGE CP HIGH STREET (East side)

10/85 The Post Office

GV II

House with shop. C19. Local stone coursed rubble; Welsh slate roof to shallow pitch, with abutments; brick chimney
stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. 12-pane sash windows set flush, the outer lower windows not aligned with those above;
central shop front with two angled bays of 3+2+3 panes on either side of recessed part glazed door to match, under
continuous fascia with lead flat roof. Interior not seen. This has been the village post office since at least 1875-the
house rather earlier than this. (Wasford, A History of Henstridge, 1953).
