in St John's Churchyard

GV II

Chest tomb above brick vault. c1832. Marble. Rectangular plan
on stepped base. Clasping pilasters with incised enrichment.
Inscribed on north side. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached
cast-iron railings with torch flambe finials surrounding the
tomb. Forms a strong group with the adjoining tomb to John
Constable RA (qv).
