Rectory Farmhouse)

House. Early C18. Brick, painted, with plain tiled roof, half hipped with
two parallel ridges and valley between. Modillion eaves cornice and red
brick end stacks. Two storeys and attic. Principal elevation to The
Causeway has three C20 dormers, and a symmetrical facade of five flush frame,
twelve pane hung sashes, C19, in open boxing. Three-brick band between
storeys. Original early C18 flat hood on enriched console brackets to
doorway with six-panelled door and original radial glazing bars to fanlight
in round headed arch. Adjoining to left hand are two parallel linked service
ranges, probably contemporary. Timber-framed, plaster rendered and steeply
pitched tiled roof. One storey and loft. Adjoining wall to south end, also
early C18. Red brick with gable coping and dentil cornice. Inside:
Original four flight staircase, closed-string with turned balusters and
square newels. Staggered, butt purlin roof.
