Probably from about the date of the foundation 1560; altered and restored in 1851
and with modern additions. 1 storey, red brick, tile roof, original gabled porch
on south. Main building has plinth and simple brick entablature below eaves level
and continued around the porch; brick pilasters at angles. The side elevation has
2 windows to the front C16 gable, one to the C19 rear gable. The whole building
is very rebuilt but retains quite a lot of C16 brickwork. Inscription over porch
commemorates foundation by Elizabeth I. (RCHM 5).
