Former hospital ancillary building now day nursery. c1841 as
part of Bakewell Union Workhouse. Coursed limestone with
sandstone dressings, concrete tile roof.
EXTERIOR: single-storey, twin-roofed rectangular block.
Punched quoins; chamfered ashlar window surrounds to
diamond-pane iron casements, some with centre-pivot openers.
Central boarded door in chamfered surround flanked by gables
with 3 one-light windows, slits and shaped kneelers to ashlar
gable copings.
Right return: gable over 2 windows as front then rear wing
with 2 more.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Attached 2-storey range to rear not of special interest.
