House formerly a farmhouse. Late C15 or early C16 with C19 and C20
alterations. Timber-frame exposed and plastered or covered at first floor by
asbestos sheeting; painted brick. Low pitched hipped early C19 slate roofs.
Two storeys with main north-south range and crosswing to north. Front
elevation jettied. Stack behind ridge and side stack to south reduced and
capped. West facade with four ground floor windows of various sizes with
glazing bars and four first floor four-paned hung sash windows. Two
doorways, to left hand C19 with six-panelled door and fanlight. Interior:
Moulded ceiling beams to ground floor rooms. The farmhouse is situated
within a moated site, R.C.H.M. mon.18.
