SU 98 SW TAPLOW CLIVEDEN ROAD (Cliveden)

Circa 1860, one-storey probably by George Devey. Ragstone with stone dressings;
plaster with boarding decoration; old patterned tile roof. East elevation:
gable and oversails in 2 tiers, the lower one on timber corner brackets; beneath,
a bay window with wooden mullions and transom. North elevation with open timber
framed porch and a bay window beneath a big gable end. Attached are entrance
gates, a length of painted timber balustrade each side terminated by stone gate
piers with polished granite balls. To south of Lodge a length of rubble wall
with similar pier at end. Piers initialled C,H,S and C for Duke of Sutherland
and Cliveden.
