House. c1740. Diaper brickwork with slated roof. Two storeys,
attics and cellars. North front of 5 bays, with original central
entrance raised over 5 rounded steps. Moulded doorcase with
segmental pediment on consoles. Door replaced with sash window.
Twelve-paned sash windows with finely gauged brick lintels, the
lower arris shaped. Moulded plat band and cornice. Brick parapet
rebuilt. Three flat roofed 15-paned single-hung dormers set in
hipped gambrel roof. East front now has main entrance, a 6-
panelled door within an open C19 pilastered and rendered flat-
roofed porch. Moulded stone cornice. Attic windows in lower
section of gable, flanked by tall brick stacks. Three storey C18
block added to west front, having 24-pane sashes and modillion
cornice. Late C19-early C20 two-bay brick block at rear and
building extended to west connecting with C18 staff cottage with
a C19 rear wing.
Interior: Double pile plan with rear stair hall. Four main
reception rooms have moulded cornices, three fully but simply
panelled. Dining room right of original entrance, has fireplace
with Ionic semi-columns and marble slips. Rear parlour has
bolection moulded fireplace. Stair not seen.
