War memorial at north east corner of Town Hall Square

Early C20. Boer War memorial. Sculptor Crosland McClure. Consisting of low granite wall with bronze plaques of list of the dead, central squat pedestal with bronze kneeling angel in flowing robes holding sword and olive branch. At each end there is a slightly lower pedestal with partly robed bronze female figures.

The Town Hall, Fountain and War Memorial, and Horsefair Street and all listed buildings in Bishop Street form a group.
