6/137 Windmill Tower approx. 130m E
of Tansor Court

Windmill, now disused. Probably mid C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone and
brick, part rendered. Circular battered tower. 4 stages. Doorway under wood
lintel at ground floor and casement openings to alternate faces of each stage.
C20 castellated parapet. Interior is an open shell. Shown in early photographs
with a revolving cap. Worked during C19 in co-operation with Sawfords Bakery in
Tansor.
