6/28 Home Farmhouse

GV II


Farmhouse. Late C17 extended C18, remodelled late C19. Squared coursed limestone
with thatch roof, Originally 3-unit plan, now L-shape. 2 storeys. Entrance front
of two 7-window ranges at right angles. Irregularly spaced C19 casement windows
under wood lintels, 2 first floor windows to north range are under shallow
eyebrow dormers. First floor corner window at intersection of ranges. C19 door,
under wood lintel, adjacent to wide corner. Brick stacks at ridge of north range
and end of east range, North range is late C17, east range is C18. Elevation to
rear of east range is a similar 4-window range with a central eyebrow dormer and
gable to left. Interior not inspected but porbably has remains of an open
fireplace.
