Cottage. Probably C16. Painted render over cob or rubblestone,
thatched roof with brick stacks to left gable end and rear and
to party wall to right. 3-unit through-passage plan with rear
lateral stack to central hall. C19 and C20 single-storey
thatched left wing.
2 storeys; 3-window range. 4-light mullioned windows with
leaded lights to the first floor break through the eaves line.
The C19 door to the right of centre is flanked on the left by
2- and 4-light casement windows and an early C19
shallow-splayed 15-pane shop window to the right, with
thatched roof.
INTERIOR: 2 stop-chamfered beams and open fire with rear
lateral stack to the ground floor left; one stop-chamfered
beam and open fire to the right gable end with a spiral stair
to the left. Roof space not seen, but massive trenched purlins
to main rafters are exposed on the first floor.
