GV II

Hotel. Circa 1860s. Snecked stone rubble. Bitumen coated slate roof with gable ends
and parallel range to rear. Stone rubble projecting front lateral, end and axial
stacks.
Plan: Double depth plan with 2 parallel ranges each of 3 room and passage plan.
Range facing Fentonluna Lane on north has an entrance to right of centre, leading
into a passage with a large principal room on the higher right hand side, heated by
an end stack. The central room on the lower left hand side is heated by an axial
stack backing onto the passage and the service room beyond to left is heated by a
front lateral stack.
Gothic style.
Exterior: 2 storeys, north elevation. Regular 4 window front with projecting
lateral stack on left and gable end to cross wing on right. Entrance to right of
centre with C19 studded door in 4-centred arched opening. 2 mullion and transom
windows to left and a large moulded stone mullion and transom window to right. 2
mullion and transom windows on first floor to left, a mullion window with 2 segmental
arched lights above the entrance and a 2-light mullion window to right in the front
gable end. South elevation of 2 storeys and attic with mullion and transom windows.
Interior: Complete carpentry and joinery details survive intact.
