Former shop. Probably early C19. Coursed sandstone rubble, tiled roof.
2 storeys probably with half basement. Boarded door to right has brick
right-hand jamb and dressed lintel; casement on left with quoined
jambs and dressed lintel. No 1st floor windows. Faces passage to south
side of The Bell Inn, Cromford Hill (q.v.) being sandwiched between
The Bell Inn and cottage forming rear wing of No 30 North Street
(q.v.). Included for group value only.


NB The Back Shop forms part of house to rear of No 47 Cromford Hill.
The remainder forms part of 30 North Street which was formerly listed
by the 19th Amendment of the 8th List, dated 12 September 1990, as
part of Nos 30 and 31 North Street,under item 1/137.
