1/178 Home Farm House

GV II

Detached farm cottage. Late C17 with mid-C19 rear wing. Rubble
stone, thatched, gable-end brick stacks. Gable-end to road. Two-
storey, 3-window south front. Four-panelled door to right of
centre in stone porch, 3-light ovolo-mullioned window to either
side, left window with hoodmould, small fire window to left. First
floor has 3-light, 2-light and 3-light casements, some leaded
panes. Right return has 2-light ovolo-mullioned window with
hoodmould to ground floor, similar 2-light mullioned window to
first floor, roof has coped verges. Rear wing has three floors;
right return has 4-pane sash and 2-light casement to ground floor,
16-pane sash to first floor and 3-light casement to second, hipped
slate roof. Left return has weatherboarded lean-to shed. Rear has
3-light casements.
Interior not inspected but said to have open fireplace at west end
with chamfered lintel on brick jambs.
