Shop and house. Mid C19. Rendered, hipped fishtail tile roof, wide eaves with large brackets. Flamboyantly Italianate
style. Three storeys, 3 bays; semi-circular head windows to first and second floors in deep reveals, emphasised
imposts, fluted heads; impost band to second floor; first floor with flanking pilasters and emphasised corner pilasters
all supporting an entablature and a moulded cornice at second floor level; cast-iron glazing bars to first floor
windows forming simple tracery, sash windows with glazing bars to second floor. Slightly projecting double shop front
to ground floor, recessed central paired half glazed doors; pilasters supporting a faciaboard and a moulded cornice;
the whole topped by a cast-iron parapet forming a balcony to the first floor windwos, central projecting flag pole. The
building provides a striking contribution to the appearance of the centre of the village.
