GV II

6 terraced houses, now offices. c1854-58. By TC Hine of
Nottingham. Restored late C20. Red brick, with painted ashlar
dressings and slate roofs with large brick ridge stacks.
Plinth, string course, eaves cornice, coped blocking course.
Anglo-Italian style. 3 storeys plus attics; 12 window range.
Windows are mainly original plain sashes with ashlar
surrounds.
Each house has to left a square bay window, 2 storeys plus
basement, and above it a projecting bay topped with a Flemish
gabled dormer with stone verges and 3 finials. No.14, to
right, has instead a canted bay window. The bay windows on
each floor have 3 round-headed lights divided by round shafts
above the basement, and panelled dummy balconies. Projecting
bays have a single sash. Dormers have single round-arched
windows. That to No.14 has a graduated round-arched 3-light
window. Each house has to right an entrance bay with a moulded
round-arched doorcase, and above, a single window on each
floor.
