House. c1840 with later alteration. Yellow-brown brick in
Flemish bond at front, painted on ground floor; English garden
wall bond elsewhere: timber bargeboards, brick stacks and
rooflights to slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 2-window gabled front
projecting forward of single bay to right. Projecting porch to
left of front has moulded panel reveals, deeply recessed
panelled double doors and on boldly modillioned flat cornice.
To right is canted bay window with 1-pane sashes framed in
shaped mullions and vermiculated frieze. Above, first floor
windows are tall French doors with transoms and modillioned
flat cornice hoods opening on to continuous flat balcony with
cast-iron balustrade. Attic window is squat 6-pane sash with
painted sill and segmental brick arch. Recessed bay to right
has 6-pane window on ground floor, 12-pane sash on first
floor.
