Overton House, with front boundary railings

Detached house. Early C19. Local lias stone roughly cut and squared; double Roman clay tile roof between coped gables;
brick end chimney stacks. L-plan; 2 storeys, 3 bays. Sash windows in simple openings with timber lintols, 20-pane to
outer bays and 16-pane to upper centre bay: to lower bay 2 a 6-panel door with 4 glazed panels, set in Regency style
timber surround with fluted pilasters and fine dentilled pediment. Interior not seen. Extending from both ends of
house, to 3 metres from front, railings with curved corners, with alternate hoops and fleurs-de-lys cast tops, set on
low stone base, with matching gates opposite door, all contributing to the setting of the house and the streetscape
generally.
