GV II*

Gateway and adjoining walls and gate piers. Early C18 and
early C19. Main gateway has a pair of corniced ashlar gate
piers topped with carved urns. Elaborate high quality
wrought-iron gates with overthrow. Concave screen walls with
ramped slab coping, with corniced square pier to right.
Adjoining wall, coursed squared stone with slab coping, approx
1.3m high, has a wrought-iron pedestrian gate to left of the
main gateway. This wall runs to left in a convex curve, then
in a straight section approx 100m long. Part way along this
section is a short similar wall at right angles, with a pair
of rusticated ashlar gate piers with ball finials, leading to
the stable yard. At the far end, a short section approx 2.5m
high, linked to the rear of Oaks Park (qv) and containing a
gateway.
