Late C19, much altered. Listed only for late C17 carved and painted figure of naked boy on bracket, set into return wall to Cock Lane. Erected to mark the point where The Great Fire of 1666 was finally extinguished. The figure was formerly winged and had the inscription on the breast and arms "This boy is in memory put up for the late Fire of London occasioned by The Sin of Gluttony, 1666" [RCHM].
