Laithwaite Farmhouse

Farmhouse C17 with later alterations and extensions. Limewashed rubble walls,
graduated green slate roof with stone ridge tiles and ball finials. 2
chimneys. 2 storeys. Garden front has gabled wings to each end: that to right
set forward and with lean-to porch in corner. 4 C19 casements to ground floor,
5 similar above. C19 extension to right, with stone rubble walls, in keeping.
Interior has some original doors and exposed beams; ingle-nook fireplace with
modern fireplace inserted; 3 late C17 stone fireplaces, the largest of which has
flanking pilasters; some fitted panelled cupboards; staircase with turned
balusters; small amount of C17 panelling to 1st floor. See RCHM p.224.
