of Prideaux Place

GV II

Retaining walls to sunken garden with terrace of steps and pond. Circa mid C19.
Flight of stone steps leads down to a sunken garden with a pond of quatrefoil plan in
the centre.
4 flights of stone steps with low flanking walls, the stone bases forming the newels
originally surmounted by classical urns of which at least 2 survive. There is a low
stone rubble retaining wall to the north and the pond, directly to the south, has low
stone walls forming a moulded coping. The garden is overgrown and orginally
contained a conservatory.
