House with attached barn and front garden wall. Mid-late C19
with earlier rear wing. Pebble-dashed house, rubble limestone
barn; graduated slate roofs. 2 storeys, 3 bays with wing to
rear and lower barn attached on right. House: central,
panelled door with plain overlight in architrave under cornice
on consoles. Canted bay window on left has plain sashes and
cornice; architraved tripartite sash on right. 1st floor:
projecting sills and raised surrounds to 4-pane sashes under
cornices on consoles. Fascia brackets to ogee gutter;
oversailing verges; limestone end stacks with bands. Rear:
wing has large external end stack. Barn: widened garage
entrance beneath segmental, limestone arch which springs from
house gable; stable door to far right has quoins and segmental
arch; blind 1st floor; eaves set lower than house. Front wall:
encloses garden to front of house and has rock-faced limestone
corner piers linked by dwarf walls with iron railings. Gate
piers inscribed 'HARTLEY/ WINCOTE'.
