Row of cottages. Dated 1852. Red sandstone random rubble, slate roofs, decorative bargeboards, brick stacks. "L"-plan,
4 cottages backing onto road, larger house (No 5) at right angles by drive to Nettlecombe Court. No 5: 2 storeys, 3
bays; full height canted bay right, gabled roof, 2-light many pane casements, single light centre above gabled, slate
roofed porch with decorative bargeboards and shaped wooden brackets carved on wooden piers, 6 panel door. Shield in
gable end inscribed WCT (Trevelyan) 1852. Right return 3 square gabled oriels fronting road. These were estate
cottages, part of the Nettlecombe Estate, the village having been removed at the end of the C18 from its original
location beside the Church of St Mary (qv).
