5/75 Corner House

II


House. Early C17 with later additions. Red brick with white brick
diapering, flint; pantiled roofs. L-shaped plan. C17 range has 2 storey,
3 bay road facade. Tall flint plinth with rendered cap, cut by 2 of the
3 ground floor casements; all having reveals rendered in imitation of
ashlar, restored. First floor 3 C20 casements also with rendered reveals.
Brick dentils, probably C19. Kneelered parapet gables. 2 internal gable
end stacks. Left hand gable repaired. Right hand gable has one small
window to first floor with hood mould. Rear has random fenestration; one
small window, one 5 light C20 mullion in earlier opening, 2 C20 casements
all with renewed ashlar reveals. Ovolo moulded platband with remains of
rendering. 3 C20 windows to first floor. Moulded kneeler to left hand
gable. At right angles a C19 2 storey range, enlarged in C20 all of no
special interest.
