brick and limestone rubble plinth. Long straw thatch roof with two ridge stacks. Original plan of three bay north west-south east range including an intermediate bay, with single aisle on the north east side. A narrower bay and stack were added to west end and probably represent a subdivision of the original cottage. One storey and attics. Two dormers. Three small window openings with original diamond mullions. Doorway to lobby entry. The south east end of the original range has the arcade post, aisle tie and wall post exposed. At the north west end there is another diamond mullion window. The addition to the south east is narrower. Timber framed, rendered and long straw thatched with ridge stack. In the garden is a barn re-erected from Moat House, Abbots Ripton. Timber framed, plain tiled roof. Two bays. Two storeys. Inside: In the medieval part, the chimneys and ceilings have been inserted. There is a C17 staircase at the side of the stack. There is no bracing between the wall posts and the arcade posts. The arcade has upward bracing from posts to plate. A middle rail between aisle and hall is chamfered on both sides. The roof was not inspected.
