Barn. Probably C17. Cruck-framed, coursed, squared gritstone partly dry-
walled, partly mortared. Stone slate roof, right part corrugated iron. Largely
single storey, 4 bays. Quoins. Door to left in chamfered quoined surround
with an inserted doorway to its right, quoined pitching hole above. Cart
entrance to right of centre with quoined reveals, no door. Various slit vents,
some blocked, also a row of 3 small blocked cruciform vents to left of cart
entrance. Shaped kneelers with bases for finials, gable copings. Left return
stepped plinth courses. Former 2-light double-chamfered mullion window to
left, single-light to right. Interior : 3 cruck pairs raised within walling.
Wall tie beams, single purlins with some wind braces, diagonal ridge in crossed
apex. Left truss has soffit-morticed tie beam. Cowhouse to left bay with
loft over.
