SD 99 NW MUKER CALVERT HOUSES

14/134 West Calverts House

GV II

Farmhouse. Dated 1769. Coursed rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3
bays. Ashlar surrounds to openings. Between bays 2 and 3, part-glazed door
in simple Tuscan doorcase with cornice. 4-pane sash windows. Fine lead
RM
rainwater head cast with cherubic masks and "1769". Shaped kneelers, ashlar
copings. Stacks between bays 1 and 2 and at end right. Rear elevation:
round-headed staircase window with decorative glazing bars in ashlar
surround with imposts and keystone. Right return: front kneeler inscribed
"RM 1769"; rear kneeler inscribed "CM 1674". Interior: window shutters,
staircase with turned balusters.
