5/247 Barn circa 50 yards
south-west of Otterden Place

Barn. Mid C18. Red brick with occasional grey headers in Flemish
bond, on flint plinth, with plain tile roof. Roof hipped. Row
of narrow ventilation slits to each long elevation. Canopy
to north, probably original, in third bay from east, with low
doors opposite to south. Low doors in sixth bay from east.
Interior: 7 bays, with front and rear aisles, and end aisle
to west. Arcade posts on brick plinths with wood cills. Gunstock
jowls and archbraces. Arch braces from arcade ties to arcade
posts. Clasped purlin roof with diminishing principal rafters
and intermediate collars.
