8/63 Vale Court Cottage

Small house. Circa mid C17. Rendered rubble walls, possibly incorporating some
cob. Half-hipped thatch roof. At each end is a rendered brick stack on rubble
base.
Plan: 2-room plan, each heated by fireplace in end well. Newel stair projection
at the centre of the front wall.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front, 2 windows on ground floor with
rectangular stair projection at centre which has a small blocked light. To right
on first floor is an C18 16-pane horizontal sliding sash. Mid C20 metal-frame 2-
light casement below to right. To left on ground floor is a later C20 2-light
casement without glazing bars. C20 leanto glazed porch immediately to right of
stair projection with glazed door behind.
Interior: inaccessible at time of survey but likely to contain original beams and
fireplaces and either stone or timber newel stair.
