House and former stables. Late C17 with C19 alterations. Painted incised
stucco with eaves cornice, under graduated greenslate roof with incised rendered
chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with left 3-bay (formerly 4-bay) stable under
common roof. Panelled door and overlight in painted stone architrave under
console-bracketed cornice. Sash windows in painted stone surrounds. Stable has
cross-passage plank door in chamfered surround under hoodmould. Central plank
door with loft doorway above in chamfered stone surrounds. C20 plank garage
doors to left. Small original chamfered stone-surround windows above, 2 on
right blocked and replaced by Victorian sash window. Interior of house has
beamed ceilings on ground-floor and in bedrooms. Included for group value with
Papcastle House.
