village green

Market cross now war memorial. Rebuilt plinth with 1920-21 cross by Beattie of
Carlisle. Red sandstone plinth with carved pink granite cross. Stepped plinth
of the original market cross now surmounted by inscribed granite base under tall
cross. Inscription lists men of Baggrow and Blennerhasset who fell in the Great
War and side inscription for World War II. Original cross socket lies nearby.
