Terraced house. c1832 with mid C20 alterations by Ernst Freud.
Stucco. 2 storeys 4 windows. Square-headed doorway with
pilasters carrying entablature; patterned overlight and
panelled door with tiled threshold approached by a tessellated
path. Architraved sashes with margin glazing to ground floor;
1st floor, architraved casements with margin glazing, blind
boxes and cast-iron balconies. Cornice and blocking course.
INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: former home of Sir
Julian Huxley (plaque), biologist and 1st director general of
UNESCO who lived here 1943-75.
