Formerly the Independent Chapel. Circa 1811, altered 1864 for use as Free Church Hall. Two storeys. Four windows. Hipped slate roof. Multi-coloured stock brick. Round-arched first floor sash windows with radial glazing bars. Segmental-arched ground floor sash windows with original glazing bars, except lower part of one altered to doorway in 1864. Round-arched architraved doorway with block imposts, keystone inscribed 1811, patterned fanlight and panelled double doors.

No.1, the Free Church Hall and Nos. 4 to 6 (consec) form a group with the Free Church, Market Hill and No.7 The Quay.
