House. C17 and C18 origin but remodelled and extended 1836 (dated brick) in
garden wall. Mainly white brick, part rendered to side wall. Low pitch,
hipped slate roof with two internal stacks, symmetrically placed. Double
pile. Two storeys. Three window bays with the centre bay projecting. Hung
sashes of sixteen panes. Central doorway and panelled door with fanlight.
Inside: Two bays of C17 house remain in the north side of the present house.
he corner posts with jowled heads, wall plate and tie beams are partly
visible. Adjacent and parallel to this house on the south side is a range,
timber framed and also probably C17. The wall plate and one main post are
visible at first floor. There is reset, C18 raised and fielded panelling at
first floor. A clunch rubblestone with the date 1697 carved was found in the
plinth of the house and has been reset and is visible in a ground floor room.
