SK 61 SE GADDESBY CHAPEL LANE

Cottage. Early C18, with C19 alterations and C20 additions.
Timber box framing and brick, with brick nogging. Rubble plinth.
Thatched and slate roofs. 2 gable stacks, that to north external
and larger. Front has to left, C19 lean-to porch with slate roof
and C20 panelled door in moulded surround. To right, 2 C19 3
light casements. Beyond to right, C20 lean-to addition with 2
small casements. Above, small central glazing bar casement,
flanked by single thatched gabled dormers, each with a cross
eaves 2 light leaded casement. Rear wing, C20, has 2 casements
to north. On each side, a thatched dormer. South gable has
exposed corner post, tie beam, collar and queen posts. Interior
has remains of 4 bay posts, one of them jowled, with mid rail. 2
chamfered span beams. Single purlin principal rafter roof.
