Entrance screen and porch/spire of former twin mortuary chapels; 1878, chapels demolished 1971. Rock-faced quadrant walls, squared stone porch/spire; cut dressings; cast iron gates. Porch/spire in free late C13 style.

Square gate piers with chamfered plinth and moulded pyramidal caps hold double gates which have shaped rails and moulded pyramid-topped bars and dogbars; low serpentine quadrant walls with arched coping. Porch has moulded arch with string-course above, quatrefoil panel and slatted belfry opening with raised surround in gabled half dormer at base of slender octagonal spire with two moulded rings. Above low diagonal buttresses the side walls are swept back to the base of the spire.
