Gate piers and attached wall to the west approximately 100 yards south-west of Whittington Old Hall

Pair of gate piers and wall. Dated 1673. Rusticated ashlar piers and
red brick wall with ashlar coping approximately 20 yards long; Each pier
is square in section and has a cap with projecting cornice and the base
of a former finial on top, the frieze of each pier has an oval panel, the
left hand one bears an oval frieze and the inscription "FOYIST / TOVT",
the right hand one is inscribed 1673. The gate piers formerly flanked
an entrance to the grounds of Whittington Old Hall, which was blocked by
the present wall.
