GV II*

Terraced house. Early C19 with late C19 projecting porch.
Yellow stock brick with stucco 1st floor sill band. Grey brick
porch. Slated mansard roof with dormer. 3 storeys, attics and
semi-basement. Round-arched doorway with keystone; panelled
door with radial patterned fanlight. Gauged brick flat arches
to recessed sashes. Parapet. INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings with bud
finials on low brick walls with stone capped gate piers and
cast-iron gate. HISTORICAL NOTE: this was the home of the
artist John Constable from 1827-37 (LCC plaque) and is listed
II* for its historical associations.
