GV II*

End of terrace house. Early C18 with late C18 and late C19
alterations. Tuck pointed brown brick with timber additions;
return to Gainsborough Gardens refaced 1882 in red brick.
Slate mansard roof with dormers.
3 storeys, attic and semi-basement. 2 windows. Central Gothick
entrance with canopy having dentil cornice supported on
clustered columns with triglyph impost blocks. Triglyphs
repeated as a frieze above the panelled door approached by
steps with attached cast-iron railings. Gauged red brick flat
arches to recessed sashes, 1st floor with stucco sill band.
Right hand 1st floor window a wooden Gothick canted oriel of 3
ogee lights, the central light with intersecting glazing;
carved pilasters at angles supporting triglyphs and enriched
frieze with dentil cornice. Above, a similarly enriched
3-light window of central ogee light flanked by 2 lancet
windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached
cast-iron railings with bud finials on brick wall to area and
forecourt.
