Detached house. Early C18, refronted early C19 with later
alterations. Yellow stock brick. 3 storeys. 3 windows and
1-window extension at north end. 2-storey extension to main
front with hipped tiled roof and wooden balcony over. Doorcase
with bracketed entablature and dentil cornice; square-headed
doorway with radial fanlight and half glazed door. Gauged red
brick flat arches to recessed sashes, mostly tripartite, some
with shutters. INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: home of George du Maurier, writer and artist,
from 1869.
