GV II

House now flats and attached railings. c1832 with later
additions and alterations. Reddish-brown brick in English
Garden Wall bond with painted stucco to front facade,
concealed roof and cast-iron balcony and railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, full-height bay to right, 4
first-floor windows, arranged 1:3.
Ground floor: entrance to left a 4-panel door with sidelights
and overlight, plain reveals and roll-moulded surround.
Casement windows to bay in chamfered surrounds and with
central mullion.
First floor: casement windows throughout, those to bay in
double-chamfered, elliptically-arched surrounds. Frieze,
cornice, copings. End and front stacks. Basement has glazed
door and windows. Continuous first-floor balcony with
figure-of-eight-and-circle balustrade.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: area railings and gate have bars with
fleur-de-lys finials.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Dale Street was laid out c1832, the east side
built by 1834.
