Description

Dated 1794. 2-storey, 3-bay house with single storey,
single bay wing at S gable returning W with irregular 3-bay
front. Rubble frontage to house with contrasting painted
ashlar margins, harled wing and gable. Centre entrance;
dated lintel to centre 1st floor window. 12-pane
glazing in all front windows; varied glazing in SW
elevation of wing. Coped end stacks and slate roof to main
house; wallhead stacks and piended pantiled roof to wing.
INTERIOR: interior fittings include raised and fielded
panelled window shutters.
GARDEN WALLS: property fronted by low coped garden walls;
high rubble walls enclose rear.

Statement of Interest

20 Seafield Street sited at angle to street line; probably

there was a corresponding single storey wing at N gable

bounded by present Seafield Place. Irregular sized garden

bounded at S by Chapel Street.
