Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, L-plan, 3-bay, symmetrical
manse. Squared and snecked rubble with droved ashlar
dressings and base course.
S ELEVATION: 3 widely grouped bays; advanced pedimented
bay at centre with pilastered doorpiece; rectangular fanlight.
Large ground floor windows flanking, smaller 1st floor windows
to each bay.
N ELEVATION: advanced wing to right with lean-to outbuilding
to N and porch to E return. Stair window at centre, flanked
to left by narrow window at 1st floor and windows at both
floors on outer bay.
E ELEVATION: window at centre ground and 1st floor, with
additional window to right at ground; irregular in size.
W ELEVATION: 4-bay incorporating gable of original house. 2
narrow windows to each floor at centre, with larger windows
in outer bays.
12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows; piended
slate roof. Ashlar shouldered end stacks; some original cans
retained.
INTERIOR: tripartite vestibule screen, winding stone stair
with decorative cast-iron railings.
WALLED GARDEN: rectangular plan high rubble walled garden to
E of Old Manse, circa 200' x 75', with remains of former cottage/toolshed on N wall at W. Arched gateway at W and
gateways in E and N walls. Brick buttress to N.
Rubble boundary walls with 2 sets of decorative wrought-iron
gates to N gateways.
Cottage to N of walled garden possibly served as stables for
Manse.
