Description

Circa 1825-30. 2-storey carriage house and stables with central gabled pend. 2-storey range of outbuildings to S. Harled, with ashlar margins. Now serving as Home Farm of Clunie.

CARRIAGE HOUSE AND STABLES:

W ELEVATION: depressed arched pend with modern sliding door, window above to gable with hoodmould, corniced ashlar bellcote to gablehead with ball finial and weathervane. 3-bay ranges flanking; 2 cart-arches flanking pend, stables to 2 outer bays with doors and flanking windows, modern sliding door to slapping at left. 3 windows to haylofts above.

Loading door at 1st floor of S gable. Modern covered cattle courts adjoining at rear. 2-storey free-standing rectangular-plan range at angle to S; possibly formerly residential, harled rubble with irregular

openings; 3 doors at ground floor, gabled dormer at outer left to

1st floor. Sash and case windows with slatted lower sashes.

Grey slates ashlar coped skews, coped granite stack.

Statement of Interest

Contemporary with Clunie House, Walled Garden and Dovecot, built for A Chalmers, and listed separately.
