Description

Earlier 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay cottage, in terrace Aberdeen bond, cherry-caulked masonry; finely hewn coursed blocks of light grey shades with whinstone pinning. Granite lintels, cills and rybats. Rendered base course.

E (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: doorway at centre; boarded door and letterbox fanlight; several shallow granite steps up to door. Windows in outer bays. Gabled dormer windows, with side lights, above outer bays. Modern box dormer window above centre bay.

S ELEVATION: adjoined to No 19 Main Street (see separate listing).

N ELEVATION: adjoined to No 23 Main Street (see separate listing).

4-pane glazing in sash and case windows; modern glazing to dormer windows. Coped mutual skews, granite to S, rendered to N. Broad rendered mutual stacks. Small purple slates. Roof raised to left to accommodate slightly higher extension to rear.
